Getting started takes less than 1 minute. All you need is an email address or Google account. No complex accounting setup or bulky software downloads.
Once inside, you can choose how you prefer to track:
- Automatic import (Ukraine only): connect a read-only Monobank token and transactions arrive on their own.
- Manual or hybrid tracking: create cash, multi-currency, or bank wallets manually and log transactions on the go in a few seconds via our Telegram Bot.
The interface is straightforward and designed so anyone can feel confident managing their money from day one.
If you do not see your confirmation email right away:
- Check Spam or Promotions folders: email providers (Gmail, Outlook) occasionally filter automated activation emails.
- Wait 2–3 minutes: during high-traffic intervals, mail servers may experience brief delivery delays.
- Resend confirmation: go to the Login page and click "Resend email confirmation".
No, it is completely optional. Monsave is built for flexibility. You can manage cash wallets, foreign currency accounts (USD $, EUR €, UAH ₴, PLN zł, crypto), or track via Telegram bot without connecting any bank token.
Yes, Monsave provides full free access. All core features — accounts, income and expense tracking, categories, tags, analytics, Telegram bot, and all financial calculators — are free.
Money usually sits in several places: two banks, cash, savings in another currency, investments with a broker.
- A banking app sees only its own cards and knows nothing about cash or other banks.
- A spreadsheet needs formulas and a laptop, and is awkward to fill in from a phone.
Monsave keeps it in one place: accounts in any currency, file import from your bank, quick entry from the phone or Telegram, budgets, limits and calculators for bigger decisions.
Automatic import currently works with Monobank for accounts in Ukraine, through its official Open API. In other countries no bank connection is needed. Where it is available:
- Strict Read-Only Mode: tokens only grant access to read transaction statements (amount, date, merchant description) and current balance.
- Impossible to Transfer Funds: the API protocol contains zero endpoints for authorizing payments or withdrawing funds.
- Zero Storage of Banking Secrets: we never ask for or store PINs, CVV codes, or online banking passwords.
Your records are seen only by you, and by people you share an account with yourself in the Sharing Center.
- Encrypted traffic (TLS) between your device and our servers.
- Hashed passwords: we never store them as text.
- No bank passwords or card details: we never ask for them.
- No data selling: we do not pass your data to advertisers or other third parties.
Details are in the Privacy Policy.
The bot @MonsaveBot is the fastest way to record small cash expenses: coffee, parking, a market stall.
- In Monsave open Connections → Messengers.
- Start a chat with @MonsaveBot from there, so the bot knows your account.
- Send the amount and tags, for example "4 coffee", or a photo of the receipt.
The bot adds the transaction at once, without opening the site.
The calculators help with decisions around money and work without an account:
A limit is what you are ready to spend on a category in a month, for example 300 on “Cafes & Restaurants”. Set it on the Categories page: the category row menu → Monthly limit.
- A limit applies from the current month on and carries over until you change it. Earlier months stay as they were.
- Spending reaches a category through tags: a transaction tagged #coffee counts in the category that tag belongs to.
- The bar shows what is spent; the mark on it shows what an even pace would have spent by today. Yellow means spending runs ahead of the month, red means the limit is exceeded.
- “Remove the limit” ends it from this month on.
Limits also appear on the overview (dashboard) and in the month details.
When spending in a category reaches 80% of its limit you get a warning, and at 100% a message that the limit is used up. Each comes once a month per category.
They appear in the app. To get them in Telegram or by email, turn the channel on in your notification settings, type Category and tag limits. The email carries no amounts, because others may read your mail.
Every Monday morning in your time zone Monsave sends a summary of the past week: what you spent against a usual week, your income, how much of the month's budget is used, which category grew the most and the biggest expense.
A usual week is the average of the four before it. If the week had no transactions at all, you get a short reminder to record your spending instead.
The summary appears in the app. It comes to Telegram or by email once you turn the channel on in your notification settings, type Weekly summary; the email carries no amounts.
In the first days of a new financial month Monsave sends a report of the month that has ended: spending and income, how much you kept, a comparison with a usual month (the average of the three before), a table of categories with their limits and the three biggest expenses.
The report points out what really went well: less spent than usual, part of the income kept, limits kept, a category that cost less. If the month was dearer, it says so calmly and suggests one step, such as setting a limit.
The report appears in the app. It comes by email and to Telegram once you turn the channel on in your notification settings, type Monthly spending report. Unlike other notifications, the report email carries amounts.
A rule tells Monsave: “if the description of a transaction contains this text, add these tags”. For example, “Tesco” → #groceries. Create one in Categories and tags → Rules.
- Rules apply to new transactions from Monobank and to imported files without tags of their own.
- In the transaction form the tags of a rule appear as a suggestion under the tag field as soon as you type the description.
- Monsave suggests rules by itself once you have tagged the same description the same way a few times.
A rule does not change existing transactions.
The new transaction form adapts to your habits:
- The account is the one you used for your latest transaction of that kind.
- Purchases you repeat with the same amount, account and tags appear at the top as buttons: one tap fills the form.
- Under the tag field you see your most used tags, and once you type a description, the tags of your rules and of earlier transactions with that description.
In Categories & tags → Sorting Center suggestions appear above the unsorted tags, for example “#coffee → Cafes and restaurants”. Monsave learns only from how you sorted your other tags:
- by name: “Health” and “health_” go together;
- by the merchant type (MCC) of bank transactions: a tag you use at supermarkets goes where your other supermarket tags are;
- by the meaning of the word: “cappuccino” next to “coffee”.
Nothing changes until you click Accept or Accept likely ones, and a dismissed suggestion is remembered: that category is not suggested for the tag again, on any device. If the suggested category is wrong, pick the right one in the suggestion itself: the tag goes there at once, and you can undo it. The suggestions are computed on Monsave servers, and tags are not sent to third-party services.
Yes. It helps when you want to watch something narrower than a category: #coffee within Cafes and restaurants, #taxi within Transport, or #renovation spread over several categories. Open Categories & tags → Tags, the tag menu → Monthly limit (or the button in the tag details).
- A tag limit works like a category limit: from the current month on, with warnings at 80% and 100%.
- It does not depend on the category limit and is not part of it.
- A transaction with several tags counts its whole amount towards the limit of each of them.
Tag limits appear on the overview next to category limits.
Yes, on request. Under the right to data portability you can write to support@monsave.com and get a copy of your transactions, accounts and categories. There is no self-service CSV or Excel export yet.
You can delete your account yourself at any time:
- Open Manage profile (the profile menu at the top right).
- In the Delete profile block enter your password and click Delete data and close account.
Your transactions, accounts, categories and personal data are then deleted for good.
Privacy Policy
Data security, Read-Only bank integration, and privacy protection
We only collect the minimum technical and operational data required: your email address (for login and password recovery), names of accounts you create, categories, and entered transaction amounts.
- Banking passwords or two-factor login codes.
- Full 16-digit primary account numbers (PAN).
- Card CVV/CVC codes or card PIN numbers.
- National ID, tax identification numbers, or identity documents.
You confirm the Monobank connection in the bank's app, and Monsave uses it for reading only. Monsave uses this access for two actions:
- Fetching account names and balances.
- Reading transaction history for categorization.
Monsave does not call the bank's payment functions. You can disconnect Monobank in the settings; to cancel the permission on the bank's side, use the bank's tools.
- TLS in Transit: all communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted using modern cryptographic ciphers.
- PBKDF2 Password Hashing: passwords are cryptographically salted and hashed; we never store plain text passwords.
- PostgreSQL SECURITY DEFINER: the application works with data through database functions, which limits direct access to tables.
No. We do not sell your financial data or pass transactions and balances to credit brokers, lenders or ad networks.
You control your data yourself:
- See and correct your accounts, transactions, tags and profile in the app.
- Get a copy of your transactions, accounts and categories on request to support@monsave.com.
- Delete your account with all its data: Manage profile → Delete data and close account.
- Withdraw consent to analytics at any time in the cookie settings at the bottom of the page.

About Us
Our philosophy, values, and origin as an independent finance assistant
Monsave — An independent personal finance assistant built with privacy and care
We built Monsave not as another corporate utility overloaded with predatory ads and loan offers, but as an independent initiative originating from Lviv, Ukraine, with a clear mission: to provide individuals and families with a simple, transparent, and completely private tool to manage money wisely.
We grew tired of cumbersome spreadsheets that break on mobile screens, and of overpriced foreign budgeting apps that sell customer data or lock basic everyday accounting behind expensive subscriptions. That is why we designed a system we love using every day, recommend to our families, and continuously refine.
Privacy Without Compromise
Your income, expenses, and savings are strictly your own business. We never sell personal data to third parties, never track private purchases for ad targeting, and never spam your inbox.
